Burglary statistics: Prevention is the way to go

Switzerland feels like a safe country and for the most part it really is. In a global comparison though, we are not doing all that great in terms of burglaries per capita (see graph below; burglary rate/ 100’000 people). Yes, we have great home insurances and security gadgets, but there’s still a lot that can be done.

In 2017 more than 30% of all forms of theft in Switzerland have been from break-ins. This comes down to 41’351 to be exact, which is 491 per 100’000 people. Now if we consider the clearance rate of around 17% for burglaries, then we realize the importance of prevention.*

Most private homes are not very well protected by expensive security staff or entire smart home systems. This could be a reason why they are broken into far more regularly than public facilities. Here’s where Kevin comes into play. We set out to produce the most effective prevention gadget for a very small price tag, considering the potential damage of your wealth as well as your psychological well-being in the event of a break-in. There’s still a lot our society can approve on, so let’s take the leap with a step in the right direction.

Pre-order Kevin now and help boost our country’s statistics ;)
